Central Local Remote Learning Plan

Central Local Remote Learning Plan

The Central Local Remote Learning Plan, along with a message from our superintendent, is now available for view. Along with the written plans, several instructional videos are available for parents and students to view as well.

Parents and students interested in this plan are encouraged to read the written plan and watch the provided videos. These videos will give parents and students a general overview of what the remote learning plan will offer students. Teachers will use Google Meet meetings with students during class, and then offer a download of the lecture at the end of the day via Google Classroom.

Parents with questions about this plan should contact a building principal or Mr. Arnold.

Parents interested in a face-to-face training session should contact Mr. Arnold by 3:00 on Monday, August 10. If there is enough interest in the training session, it will take place on Wednesday, August 12 at 6:30 pm in the MS/HS gymnasium. Mr. Arnold will notify parents as to whether this proposed training will take place no later than Tuesday afternoon.

Parents need to choose an educational option for each of their children by midnight on August 14. To do this, parents need to visit Final Forms and complete the form titled "2020-21 Educational Option." The form will go live on Friday, August 7.

Questions about completing the educational option form should be directed to Mr. Arnold or Mr. Adam Singer, director of technology.

Below, please find both the student live Google Meet experience, as well as what the daily download will look like. These recordings are to show the real-world quality expectations of the live streams for audio and video quality. Recommended download speeds per live stream connection is approximately 2-3Mbps. Video quality might automatically downgrade leading to a blurrier image if a student’s network speed is insufficient. If this occurs, then students might want to utilize the download option at the end of the day to view the full quality video.

The district-level plan will be released to the community no later than July 31. Like the county plan, all district-level plans must be approved by the county health department.

School officials understand that face coverings is a hot topic in many area communities. New Website Calendar System

We have recently changed our public website calendar in an effort to streamline and simplify our calendar systems here at Central Local Schools. We now use Google Calendar exclusively throughout our district for scheduling our internal resources as well as our public non-athletic based website events. All of our athletic events are also now managed exclusively through our athletic website fairviewapaches.com which is managed by our Athletic Director Mr. Paul Yunker. These changes have helped us simplify our resource scheduling, improve our organization of district resources, and improve communication. If you have any questions, then please contact our Director of Technology Mr. Adam Singer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
