Ohio is launching a new program called Start Talking! to help parents and educators talk with youth about drug abuse, especially first use. Part of the program, called Know! is based on findings that children who talk with their parents and other authority figures about drugs are 50 percent less likely to use them. Know! arms teachers and parents with these communication tools to deliver a strong, consistent message. Click HERE to see a video of Gov. John Kasich and First Lady Karen introducing the program. Important Bus Information
There is an important change we are making concerning high school and middle school bus drop off and parent drop off points in the morning only. For the safety of all, it is important to separate the drop off points if possible. In the past there have been instances in which parents have had to drive between buses in order to drop off students. To alleviate these safety concerns the buses will be dropping off all students behind the building. All parent drop-offs will be at the main entrance of the high school. Parents will have the entire front circle and will not have to fight bus traffic. The only change for parents is that you will no longer be able to drop off your student at the south entrance door to the high school.
Central Local Schools, in partnership with the community, will provide an appropriate environment for each student to realize his/her potential as a life-long learner in a global society.
The Central Local School District has three schools, Fairview High School, Fairview Middle School, and Fairview Elementary School. The district is located in Defiance County in NW Ohio, 8 miles south of Bryan and about 12 miles west of Defiance.
