Fairview Touchdown Club Fund Raiser (Forms Due By September 15th 2014)

This is the last week to order. We will be selling them at the game Friday September 12th and the order will be turned in on Monday. The Touchdown Club (mom's club) feed the boys on Fridays before their football games. You can find the order form HERE. Thank you for your support!

We would like to help David Robinson and his family by holding a DAVID ROBINSON FAMILY BENEFIT on November 15th, 2014. This is going to be held at Fairview High School from 4-9:00 pm. We plan on having a live auction, silent auction, bake sale, 50/50 raffle, food line, kid’s games and other entertainment. We are also holding a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament to benefit the family on November 14th at the Ney Legion (Ney, Ohio) with registration starting at 5:30 and the tournament starting at 6:30.

Central Local Schools Won An Innovative Straight A Grant

Central Local Schools in a consortium effort with 15 districts in Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, and Williams County won an innovative Straight A Grant in the amount of $3,402,120. This grant funding will be used to expand virtual and blending learning opportunities for students within the consortium districts.

Rock The OAA (Video)

Students recently attended an OAA Assembly to motivate and relax them before the upcoming state tests. The OAA theme was “Have a super hero attitude and rock the OAA’s. The 5th grade students, along with Mrs. Berry and Mrs. Rhodes, created a video that was shown during the assembly. Mrs. Hill’s super hero name was Princess Chill. Mr. Dominique was “The Dominator”. Each was dressed in an amazing super hero costume. Staff surprised students by dressing up too.

The Young Fives and Kindergarten classes show off their artwork in a video dedicated to their parents, grandparents, and all adults who support and help them grow.

Start Talking!

Ohio is launching a new program called Start Talking! to help parents and educators talk with youth about drug abuse, especially first use. Part of the program, called Know! is based on findings that children who talk with their parents and other authority figures about drugs are 50 percent less likely to use them. Know! arms teachers and parents with these communication tools to deliver a strong, consistent message. Click HERE to see a video of Gov. John Kasich and First Lady Karen introducing the program. INOK (It's Not OK) Assembly

INOK – It’s not OK: To be disrespectful, to be mean, to lie, to bully. Fairview elementary is excited about the new INOK program. INOK encourages everyone to treat each other with respect, regardless of individual differences. We are hopeful INOK will encourage positive behavior, reduce negative behavior and make our great school even better. Recently INOK was explained to students at an assembly. Apache Discount Cards For Sale

The Central Local Music Boosters have Apache Discount Cards for sale for $5 each. Cards can be used for discounts at local businesses through 12/31/14. For a sample of the card, click HERE. Cards can be purchased from any music student or at the high school office.

The Central Local School District has three schools, Fairview High School, Fairview Middle School, and Fairview Elementary School. The district is located in Defiance County in NW Ohio, 8 miles south of Bryan and about 12 miles west of Defiance.
