There are a few seats left on the bus for the college fair at Northwest State on March 6th. If there are any sophomores who would like to attend, you may pick up permission forms in the office. Spaces will be filled by those returning their permission forms first. Juniors and seniors – if you are interested in going and did not turn in your permission form by the deadline, do so ASAP to get a seat. No forms will be accepted after Friday, February 24th. See Mrs. Singer if anyone has questions.
The weight room will be closed in the morning on Feb. 23 and 28. No weights/No passing.
Junior boys interested in attending Boys State need to have their completed application turned into the office by this Friday.
Attention students planning to take the ACT in Defiance in April. Because of a music contest at the high school the same day, the ACT for April 14 will NOT be located at the Defiance Senior High School building. We will test at Defiance MIDDLE School instead. Anyone wanting to test in Defiance should use test center code 237870 (do NOT use the regular 182290 code). Otherwise, you may be assigned to another test center farther away. The deadline for April registration is March 9th.
OGT Testing will be March 12 – 16. All students in grades 9 & 10 will report to school at the normal time on these dates and will take the OGT from 8:09 – 10:00. Grades 11 & 12 will be arriving on a 2 hr. delay schedule. Permission slips to arrive late where mailed with your mid-term and will need to be signed and returned to the office no later than Tuesday, February 28th.
Eric's All American Ice Cream Factory is holding open interview sessions this Friday, February 24th, from 2:45 until 4:00p.m. at their Bryan location, located on Center Street, next to the YMCA. If you are interested in potential employment this season at Eric's, plan to attend a quick 2 minute interview on the 24th. Please go to ericsicecream.com to print and fill out the application prior to your arrival. If you have questions prior to the event, they can be asked via the contact link on the website.
Any student interested in participating in PSEO next year is reminded of the meeting on Monday, February 27th at 7PM at Defiance College. This meeting is mandatory even if you are participating in PSEO this year. Please sign up in the office if you and your parents are planning to attend.
Pre-Sale tickets for Friday night’s boys basketball game with Kalida are on sale in the office during your lunch. Adult tickets are $5 and student tickets are $3. All tickets at the door will be $6.
There will be a student relay for life meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28th at 7:45 in Mrs. Woodring’s room.
The Sherwood Area Service Organization will be sponsoring a Soup and Sandwich Supper to benefit their scholarship fund on Friday, February 24, before the Fairview vs. Kalida basketball game. Serving time is 4:30 – 6:00 in the Fairview H.S. cafeteria. Free will donations will be accepted. All proceeds go to the Fairview senior scholarship fund. We will be serving chili, chicken noodle and potato soup, sloppy jo and grilled cheese sandwiches, dessert, chips and drink. Hope you can come out and enjoy a nice meal and support the Fairview senior scholarship fund.
